There is an old proverb: To educate a man is to educate an individual; to educate a woman is to educate an entire family.
Education is a liberating force, and in our age it is also a democratizing force, cutting across the barriers of caste and class, smoothing out inequalities imposed by birth and other circumstances.
Women’s education cannot be isolated from the total process of national development. Women must be encouraged to think independently, to break free from traditional superstitions, and to actively contribute to building a modern, progressive society.
